Columbian Labor Organization to Appeal "Killer Coke" Case Dismissal

Sinaltrainal, a food and beverage workers' union of Columbia, recently notified the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals of their intent to appeal their case Coca-Cola Co. and Columbian bottlers in an alleged conspiracy with paramilitary groups to murder, torture and threaten trade unionists. The case was thrown out in US District Court in Miami in September for lack of jurisdiction.

Check out the story here. For more information about the “Killer Coke” case you can read the Plaintiff’s side here and the Defendant’s here.

If what is alleged is found out to be true, then I guess I will have to reconsider my love for Coke Zero. I see that quite a few universities have already stopped selling Coke products in reaction to these allegations, including Oxford and NYU.
