Congolese Warlord Case to Begin Next Week in ICC
The case of former Congolese warlord Thomas Lubanga is set to begin next week with a 13 day hearing to determine if there is enough evidence for a full blown trial. Lubanga is accused of recruiting children to fight ethnic rivals. Following an agreement between the prosecution and the defense, most of the witnesses will be protected. The trial would be the first for the International Criminal Court since it was created in 2002 as the first permanent war crimes tribunal. The AP has more here.
